Mary Joann Reedy, a magna cum laude graduate of Marymount College, Tarrytown, New York, received her Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law. After serving as an Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, she joined Murphy, Lamere and Murphy, P.C. and is a principal of the firm. Attorney Reedy represents school committees in the areas of special education and general education issues, including student, discipline, civil rights and other school litigation. She has represented institutional and private clients before administrative agencies, and state and federal trial and appellate courts. She is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar, the Federal District Court for Massachusetts and the First Circuit Court of Appeals. She frequently provides seminars for school personnel, special education and human services agency professionals on special education and other school law issues.
Attorney Reedy also represents numerous private clients in developing and implementing estate plans which reflect both the estate and income tax and personal concerns of each individual client. Over the years she has participated in numerous estate planning seminars with financial planners, hospital support groups and senior citizen groups interested in providing information about these important topics to citizens of the South Shore communities.
