Attorney Caroline Recio Joins MLM

MLM is excited to announce the addition of education attorney Caroline Recio as an associate attorney.

Originally from Tennessee, Caroline attended college Agnes Scott College in Georgia, where they played lacrosse for the Scotties. During college, Caroline was also active in the local ROTC program, and after graduating with a B.A. in History, Caroline served for five years as a Field Artillery Officer in the United States Army, where they rose to the rank of Captain.

Following their time in the Army, Caroline enrolled in the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in Memphis, where they completed their first year of law school and earned honors for their legal writing. Caroline then moved to Georgia for their final two years of law school, ultimately receiving their Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 2022. While at Emory, Caroline was a member of the Barton Child Law and Policy Clinic.

After law school, Caroline was admitted to the Massachusetts bar and moved to Massachusetts, where they began their legal career providing legal assistance to income-eligible individuals in the Boston-area for about a year. Soon, Caroline found their calling in the field of education law, joining a local legal services organization for several years where they represented clients in special education and student discipline matters and litigated cases at the Bureau of Special Education Appeals.

Caroline now brings those years of experience to MLM, where they have joined shareholders Paige Tobin and Caitlin Mulrooney along with education attorneys Nancy Nevils and Brendan Brooks, in the firm’s student services practice group. Caroline’s work at MLM will include all areas of education law, with a primary focus on school policy, Title IX, general and special education, student discipline, and student services. Murphy, Lamere & Murphy is thrilled to welcome Caroline to our legal team.
